Nothing better then a tasty burger with super juicy and tender patties! This version is so easy to prepare and is a nice treat for a mid week meal.
For the patties-
800g beef mince
1 brown onion, grated
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Handful of chopped italian parsley
2 tablespoons worchester sauce
1 cup of breadcrumbs (I used Panko)
Big sprinkle of salt and pepper
For the onion rings-
1 brown onion, cut into 1cm slices and separated
1 cup of soda water
1/2 cup self raising flour
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Canola oil for frying
For the chips-
4 large potatoes, cleaned and sliced but with skin left on
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 brioche or sesame burger buns
Iceberg lettuce, washed and trimmed
2 tomatoes, sliced
Brie cheese, sliced
Smokey BBq sauce
To make the patties, combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix together with clean hands. Form into patties and place on a baking paper lined tray. Refrigerate while you prep your other ingredients.
To make the chips, clean your potatoes and slice into even sized slabs. Place in an oven tray in an even layer with olive oil and season well. Put in a fan bake oven at the highest temp and cook for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy. Continue your other components while they cook.
Slice your lettuce, tomatoes and onion for the rings. Place brie cheese on your burger buns cut in half and arrange on an oven tray.
To make the rings, simply whisk the flour and soda water together with the garlic salt. Heat a pan with 2-3cm of canola oil in it until very hot. Drop your rings in the batter and drip well before cooking 4-6 at a time, for around 2-4 minutes or until crispy and golden. Use a slotted spoon to drain them and pop in a paper towel lined bowl.
For the burger patties, cook in a hot olive oiled pan for approx 4 minutes each side. Make sure they are fully cooked through! You can leave them on a tray in a warmed oven as you cook your other batches.
To finish, grill your burger buns until the cheese melts and assemble your yummy burgers.
